Uploading Images in WordPress
I know a lot of people have issues when uploading images with WordPress. I’m going to go over the basics.
1. Make sure you have the image somewhere on your hard drive.
2. Make sure the image is not wider than your blog will allow. Also, by default WordPress only allows 1.5 meg uploads.
3. Using the upload box browse to the file on your hard drive.
4. Click on Upload.
5. Now you will see the image in the blue upload box.
6. If you click on the image it gives you some options.
7. The first option is using thumbnail. This option toggles between using the original sized image or a thumbnail.
8. Now put your cursor in the post box where you’d like the image to go.
9. You can just click on “Send to Editor” on the image options, this will place the image where your cursor was. Otherwise you can drag and drop the image as well.
10. Once the image is in your article, you’ll need to align it. Click on the image, this will show the handles. Click on the Tree (insert/edit image). Select the alignment you want. If you choose right, the text will wrap around the left side of the image. If you choose left, the text will wrap around the right side of the image. There are some more options as well.
11. Once I think everything looks how I want it, I click save and continue editing. Then I scroll to the very bottom of the page to see a preview of my article.
12. Once everything looks good, go ahead and click publish.
Uploading images in WordPress is not that big of a deal. It might seem weird the first time, but once you’ve done it once or twice it’s a snap.
