Working at Home Cons
Cons
Distractions - Lots of distractions such as TV, pets, household duties, phone calls, etc.
Dedicated - You have to remain dedicated and stay on task without a supervisor. This can sometimes be difficult.
Appearance - You may think it's great not shaving or wearing shorts all the time. Sometimes it feels like I'm slobby all of the time.
No socializing - It get's a little lonely. Sometimes I miss the potlucks or the lunch's with fellow employees.
Out of the Loop - Sometimes you feel out of the loop because you don't have that socialization with other employees. There's no gossip.
Hours - Sometimes I feel like I'm always chained to my computer or phone. Plus sometimes you'll get calls after hours that can stress you out, when you should be relaxing.
Expectations - Sometimes I feel like I'm expected to do household chores because I am home. I also feel like I'm expected to take the kids or pets to appointments. It's hard to convince your spouse that "it is a job."
Cabin Fever - After working all day at home, at night and on weekends I really get the itch to go out. Too much time at home can give you cabin fever, make sure you have an outlet to relieve this.
